Mrs. Dorothy Butts-Valentine, MA, MS, LPC, NCC is the founder and Owner of FOCUS Group Solutions, LLC and the founder and PRESIDENT of the National Consortium for Mental Health Counselors (NCMHC), a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. 

Ms. Butts-Valentine began her mental health career in 2009, post her retirement from the United States Marine Corps after 21 years of service. Dorothy is a Graduate from Liberty University with a Master of Arts (MA) in Human Services, Marriage and Family Therapy:  she is also a Graduate from Walden University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC).  Her vision to develop a national consortium, is the beginning of “…developing the next generation of mental health counselors.”  NCMHC, is a concerted effort to enlarge the mental health presence footprint in every community.  The mission is to reduce the obstacles of access to care in every community and increase resources for those suffering with mental illness. Creating a high-touch, accessible national organization for mental health graduate and post graduate students, will increase practicum, internships, and resident opportunities, a needed requirement for licensure. Dorothy continues to collaborate on such topics for local and state programs that focus on the Veteran population.  Mrs. Butts-Valentine has a long history of service to her country and community.  Her selfless contributions to the community, increase mental health resources, to make access to care a reality, all while “remaining grateful to serve.”

Vice President

Dr. Paulette D. Hubbert is a licensed clinical social worker and a retired U. S. Marine. She has over 30 years of experience working with diverse groups and populations in Clinical, Military, Law Enforcement and Educational Environments. Her expertise extends to the areas of Leadership Development, Education, Prevention Education, Program Development, Victim Advocacy, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Human Trafficking, Domestic Violence and Trauma Informed Doctrine. She has over 25 years of experience in developing and conducting seminars, trainings, and workshops nationally and internationally in the aforementioned areas.  Dr. Hubbert is the author of “All That I Am to Be” and “Breathe”.In her private practice, Inspired Wholeness LLC, she provides counseling and consultation to empower and assist individuals, groups, and communities in transformation to live balanced, fulfilling        lives.

Parliamentarian

Mah Mekolle holds a Master of Science in Nursing – Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is also a certified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). She is the Editor of her online magazine and inspirational blog on mental health topics https://pearlsofourlives.com/. She has over 12 years clinical experience as a Registered Nurse, and she is the Founder and Executive Director of Connecting Angels nonprofit. She’s a Trainer and sits on the Clinical Committee for HEAL First International organization http://healfirstinternational.org/about/clinpros/, offering clinical expertise on organizational structuring for hospitals treating COVID 19 patients in Cameroon, Africa. Mah also received great praise for her work as a Health Trainer in 2020, coaching over a thousand frontline health care workers on Self-Care and coping with the COVID-19 crisis, earning her a feature on her Organization’s news https://jobs.memorialhermann.org/Compassionate-Care-and-Self-Care. In 2015 she was a featured author, writing four children’s stories in collaboration with Pauline’s Publication Africa. She is a two-term chapter President of her Alma Mater association, LESA Houston, and served a term as the organization’s National President. She loves what she does, and her source for all service, is love

Treasurer

Jeniffer Ballard is an active duty Marine Corps Officer stationed at Marine Corps Base, Quantico.  She is a Navy Veteran and has served in various and diverse capacities in both Services for over 23 years.  Lieutenant Colonel Ballard holds a BS in Nursing from Marquette University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Averett University.  She is an active member of various professional organizations including the Association of Naval Services Officers, where she recently served as the Marine Corps Service Representative; and the Women Marines Association, where she formerly served as the VA-1 Chapter Treasurer.  She is also active in her local community and is currently serving as the League Treasurer for Dumfries Triangle Quantico Little League.  LtCol Ballard's unselfish commitment to serve not only her nation, but her community is a testimony to her support of NCMHC and the mental health community.

Adria Grey is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a National Certified Counselor. Ms. Grey earned a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University. She has worked with children, adolescents, and their families for the past 10 years. She has extensive experience working with at-risk youth and providing supportive services. She has worked in residential facilities for adolescents and adults, as well as in-home based services. She has provided wrap around services and initial intakes within the residential setting. She has experience with inpatient substance abuse treatment and has provided assessments in this setting. In a private practice setting, she worked with individuals, couples, and groups and implemented a variety of expressive therapies within her practice.   She provides a person-centered approach within her theoretical perspective but also incorporates techniques from a variety of disciplines to meet the needs of her clients. She provides social skills and supportive groups for children and adolescents struggling with awareness, perspective taking and interactions with peers. Her group work extends over a wide range and often utilizes creative expression. She continues to advance her knowledge and background with training, development, and new opportunities. She currently provides services to client at 2 private group practices. She is also working to gain her Registered Play Therapy (RPT) license.   Adria has chosen this field as she enjoys helping others realize the strengths and tools they already possess to support themselves through life’s everyday challenges.

Community Partnership Chair

Dr. A’Lelianne Warren currently serves as the Director of Recruitment and Retention at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College in Salisbury North Carolina. In this position, Dr. Warren is responsible for the Career and Academic Advising Centers, high school dual enrollment and all recruitment/enrollment and retention efforts for the College.   Prior to her work with Rowan-Cabarrus, she worked in the mental health field for over five years as a Case Manager and Masters-Level Clinician.  Dr. Warren has over ten years of experience in creating and developing programs for educational mental health purposes; where she has developed and implemented several different workshops and seminars to promote the intellectual and psychological well-being of families and children.  Dr. Warren has one of the most important roles in our agency. Her ability to develop partnerships provide opportunities to students nationwide, all while making access to mental health care a reality in every community.

Data Analyst

Shawn W. Valentine is a Project Manager at Voxpopme.  Shawn’s professional portfolio includes IBM Data Science Professional, Hubspot Social Media Marketing, and University of Virginia Marketing Analytics Certifications. Shawn’s natural and trained ability to code, analyze and mine data, is a unique and ubiquitous skill set, for data analyst to acquire.  Outside of his professional roles, Shawn has assisted Veterans in maintaining mindfulness through Yoga and most recently achieved his Blue Belt, with the Pedro Sauer Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association under 4th degree Black belt Mike Diaz. His undying ability to serve, supports NCMHC’s vision and mission.

Lesly A. Valentine, III is a Senior Administrative Assistant and Graphic Designer with Aon.  He achieved a Baccalaureate in Graphics Design with a minor in Business Administration, from George Mason University. Lesly has a long history of experience with Graphics design. His portfolio includes Washington Wizards, George Mason’s Provost Office, FOCUS Group Solutions, LLC, and the creator of NCMHC’s logo, to name a few.  Lesly's passion for creativity and vision purposed work, is noteworthy in every project he accomplishes. Lesly’s continued support to non-profit agencies through his gift of graphics design, proceeds his talent and his willingness to volunteer and support agencies that impact the greater community.
